In an attempt to class-up its image and globalize its brand, Hainan Airlines unveiled its new and rather swanky uniforms last Tuesday during Paris Couture Week. These glamorous fifth-generation uniforms were all designed by Laurence Xu, a Chinese designer well known for his talent at blending East and West, who set out to combine elements of “classical, time-honored Oriental aesthetics and the silhouette of a modern Western suit” for his repurposed traditional cheongsams. We happen to think they look pretty nice! It apparently took Xu two years and over 1,000 blueprints before he finally decided on the final designs.
As Hainan Airlines Management said : We happen to think they look pretty nice! It apparently took Xu two years and over 1,000 blueprints before he finally decided on the final designs. They have glamour new uniform, and that is different with other Airlines.
Hainan Airlines is China’s largest civilian-run airline and is focused on becoming one of the world’s leading carriers. According to Bloomberg, the airline is looking to double the number of international flights taking off from China’s second-tier cities, looking to capitalize more on travel-happy Chinese tourists.
At the same time, Hainan Airlines has always been at the forefront among Chinese airlines in thinking outside the box to satisfy customers, hand-feeding disabled passengers and putting travelers up for a night at kinky S&M-themed hotels after canceled flights.
The fifth-generation Hainan Airlines uniforms highlight the combination of traditional Chinese features and internationally popular elements.
